The Mbuya Military Barracks Hospital was one of Monaco Coatings’ most comprehensive institutional commissions — covering the full interior and exterior coating of a healthcare facility serving Uganda’s military personnel and their families. The project required a durable, low-maintenance coating solution designed to withstand rigorous cleaning regimes and the heavy daily use typical of a busy medical and residential barracks environment.
Institutional projects at this scale require absolute confidence in the coating system — Monaco’s Vinyl Silk and Weatherguard combination delivered the durability, hygiene, and professional finish this UPDF facility demanded.
Monaco Vinyl Silk was selected for all ward, corridor, and clinical interior spaces — providing a hygienic, washable surface that resists moisture, staining, and the frequent disinfection required in active healthcare settings. Colour schemes were developed using Monaco’s full palette, creating a calm, professional environment for both patients and medical staff throughout the facility.
The exterior was treated with Monaco Weatherguard, delivering comprehensive UV, weather, and fungal resistance to maintain the building’s appearance and structural integrity through Uganda’s demanding climate. As an active military installation, the project was executed with strict attention to site access protocols and minimal operational disruption at all times.
