The New Mulago Cancer Institute is one of Uganda’s most critical healthcare infrastructure projects, and Monaco Coatings was selected to provide the complete coating solution for both the exterior and interior of this landmark medical facility. Healthcare environments place unique demands on paint — cleanability, hygiene, low VOC emissions, and long-term durability under heavy cleaning schedules are non-negotiable requirements.
Healthcare environments demand coating solutions that go beyond aesthetics — Monaco’s low-VOC, washable interior finishes were specified to meet the clinical hygiene standards of one of Uganda’s most important medical facilities.
Monaco Vinyl Silk was specified throughout all clinical interior spaces — including wards, consultation rooms, corridors, and theatre preparation areas. Its smooth, washable surface resists the repeated cleaning and sanitisation that healthcare settings require, while maintaining a calm, professional aesthetic that contributes to patient wellbeing. Low-VOC formulations were prioritised throughout to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
For the exterior, Monaco Weatherguard provided the anti-fungal, weather-resistant protection required for a building that must maintain its institutional appearance through Uganda’s wet and dry seasons — minimising ongoing maintenance costs for the facility over its operational lifetime.
The successful delivery of the New Mulago Cancer Institute project reinforces Monaco’s capability to meet the exacting coating standards demanded by Uganda’s most important public health infrastructure.
